These;

– Body Mass Index above 35 and with it

-Diabetes

– Concomitant diseases such as hypertension

or

– If the Body Mass Index is 40 and above, concomitant disease is not considered.

However, it should not be forgotten that the SGK compensate only a part of the surgery.

Slimming surgeries are performed between the ages of 18 and 65; These surgeries can be performed on patients under the age of 18 with the consent of the family, in case the person has comorbid illnesses, does not respond to the treatments applied and there is a life-threatening situation.

Before bariatric surgery is performed, routinely to all our patients;

All these examinations are completed in 1 day and if there is no obstacle to the operation, the operation is planned.

Regardless of the weight loss surgery methods, the patient should consume liquid foods 2 days before the surgery. As of 24:00 the night before the surgery, you must come to the hospital without drinking any food or water, just like fasting.

– Since the part of the stomach that is removed by surgery is the most secreted part of the Ghrelin hormone that triggers hunger, not only the amount of food eaten decreases, but also a decrease in the desire to eat.

– Dumping syndrome is not observed with this surgery, since the mechanism that controls the passage of food from the stomach to the small intestine is not disrupted.

– Obesity-related diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and sleep apnea can improve by 70-80% after surgery.

– If necessary, it can be converted to other obesity surgical operations.

– No foreign body is placed in the body during gastric sleeve surgery.

Gastric sleeve, or stomach reduction surgery, is an operation performed to reduce the capacity of the stomach. In sleeve gastrectomy performed by laparoscopic method, popularly known as closed surgery, 80 to 85 percent of the patient’s stomach is vertically removed in the form of a tube. The volume of the stomach remaining after surgery is approximately 100 to 150 ml. Since a great part of the stomach is removed after this operation, the relative hormone, that is, the hunger hormone, is also greatly reduced. In this way, the patient gets a feeling of fullness faster and the amount of food eaten is seriously reduced.

Metabolic Surgery, also known as Type 2 Diabetes Surgery, causes diabetes, hypertension etc. due to excessive weight gain. It is a set of surgeries that aim to eliminate metabolic diseases and include several different surgical methods. Metabolic surgery, which controls both diabetes and obesity, is performed with a closed method.

In Gastric Bypass surgery, known as the golden child of obesity surgery, 5 to 10 percent of the stomach is separated with the help of staples by laparoscopic method and connected directly to the beginning part of the small intestines. The separated small intestine part is combined with the small intestine from below. The remaining stomach is disabled. Thanks to this operation, both the stomach capacity is reduced and the body’s benefit from the foods eaten is less, since the bile and digestive enzymes are added to the intestinal circulation from below. This reduces the calorie intake of the patient as he metabolizes only a small part of the food he takes. In this surgery, it is not possible to remove the stomach like the gastric sleeve.

Revisional Bariatric Surgery is applied when patients who have undergone obesity surgery begin to gain weight rapidly after weight loss stops. Revisional Bariatric Surgery; It can be applied in all stomach reduction, gastric banding, gastritis bypass operations. In this surgery, the stomach is either reduced or continued by gastritis bypass operation.

Gastric Balloon is an interventional procedure that allows the patient to lose 15 to 20 kg of weight without the need for any surgical operation. There is no need for general anesthesia in this procedure. It takes place with sedation, known as a mild drowsy drug, and gastroscopy for 10 to 20 minutes. The gastric balloon inflated with 400 to 700 cc of liquid or air prevents excessive food intake as it will increase stomach filling and the patient starts to lose weight from the moment he leaves the hospital. After this procedure, the patient does not stay in the hospital. He can immediately return to his social life. The attached balloon can remain in the stomach for 6 to 1 year. We recommend that our patients work with a dietician so that they can lose weight permanently. Because after the balloon is removed, eating habits must be changed in order not to gain weight.

In all laparoscopic surgeries, the pain is minimal compared to open methods. It occurs in the form of slight tingling in the holes where the trocars are inserted. It is possible to overcome this pain with painkillers prescribed by your doctor.

Of course it is possible. However, there are some reasons for this;

– Forcing the stomach with more food than it can take

– Fast food

– Swallowing food without chewing enough

To prevent these, you must first completely forget your old eating habits. In order to prevent nausea, eating should not be continued at the moment of feeling full. Donuts should be reduced in size, chewed thoroughly and eaten slowly. In short, you have to reduce your eating tempo very seriously. You should be fed just like babies.

– Thanks to the waterproof dressing bands, you can take a shower from the day of your surgery.

– How Many Days Will I Have Inpatient Treatment After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?

– It is sufficient to stay in the hospital for 3 days, including the day of surgery.

– We recommend that you rest at home for 10 days after the operation. After all, the body is trying to get used to the new capacity stomach and new consumption behaviors. He tells those who do a desk job that they can return to their jobs from the 10th day, if they wish. However, we recommend our patients who work in jobs that require physical activity to start after 30 days of rest. After the surgery, we routinely give a 30-day report to all our patients to give them to their workplaces.

– It should not be forgotten that; Since nicotine reduces the nutrition and healing of tissues, we do not recommend smoking for the first 15-30 days due to the risk of leak development.

We definitely do not recommend it for the first 6 months after surgery due to the intense sugar in it and the damages of the alcohol it will inflict on the stomach.

Not only coffee, but all products containing caffeine should be avoided for at least 1 month. Because products containing caffeine can accelerate bowel movements and increase your appetite.

Can acidic and carbonated drinks be consumed after tube gastric surgery?

We want you to avoid acidic and carbonated beverages such as coke, soda, soda completely for the first 1 year from the day of your surgery. Because such drinks affect the healing process of the stomach negatively.

Since you have had anesthesia and underwent a serious operation, you should stay away from sexuality that requires high effort for up to 30 days.

Since we want patients who undergo gastric sleeve surgery to lose weight quickly, not from muscle, but from fat, they need to consume 60 to 90 grams of protein per day.

We recommend that you work with personal trainers from the first day of the weight loss process. In this way, you can minimize the sagging that will occur on your body. Still, if sagging occurs, then we recommend you to have your stretching surgery 1 year after the weight loss surgery.

After 3 weeks of surgery, you can swim in the sea or pool after your doctor’s examination.

– After the operations performed, we encounter hair loss problems due to the stress of the surgery, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, insufficient food intake and insufficient water consumption. Despite the elimination of all these deficiencies, hair loss can occur due to the decrease in the body’s calorie intake and the sudden change in metabolic balance. However, thanks to the magnesium and selenium supported vitamins, this period results in the least loss.
